Dominic Plueer and Olivier Smitt are Swiss born designers who challenge our assumption and perception of daily life`s most basic products.
We intend to encourage the users imagination by eroding the preconceived notions and rituals that precede life’s most conventional products. Through emboldening a product’s material presence and not demoting unfamiliar forms to typical primary functions, our small-scale furniture and objects confirm that life’s basic products can realize new life as autonomous objects. Demanding to be experienced not merely recognized, our work encourages research into a new level of use and purpose becoming recognized as neutral objects of utility. The interplay of the familiar and strange combined with the users imagination, lets one experience the product in a fresh manner and allows us to freely interpret our observations.
